Animated ringerThe fine peal of eight bells at St Columb Major, Cornwall, are rung presently on 2nd & 4th on Sundays 10:15 - 11:00am and for weddings and other major services and local and national events. Practices are normally held on Wednesday evenings at 7:30pm (except in August).

Visiting ringers, either individuals or bands, are always made welcome but if you're planning to join us on a practice night do check first; Sunday ringing goes ahead without fail. Additions and exceptions to our normal ringing times are notified in the news feed (right).

Ringing Holiday 2019We are an active group who enjoy socialising as well as ringing together. We hold an annual dinner, a traditional coach outing, and also travel further afield for a three-day ringing holiday. This has taken us to ring at towers right across southern England from South Wales to Cambridge and down to the Isle of Wight. We are pictured (left) outside Dundry church, near Bristol, in 2019.

Webcam screendumpWe have a webcam installed in the belfry which allows us to view the bells from down in the ringing chamber. For details of how this was achieved see this article which was printed in the Ringing World.

Dumbell splitscreenWe also have a training 'dumb' bell which is invaluable when teaching. The split screen image (left) shows Denise ringing the training bell which is installed in the clock room.

It is connected to a laptop running an Abel simulator which Peter is using (right).
