The Rotary Club of St Columb, covers a rural area around the ancient market town of St Columb Major, stretching from St Eval to the North to St Enoder in the South, taking in the communities of St Mawgan, Mawgan Porth, Indian Queens, St Wenn, Colan and Watergate. The club normally meets on first and third Tuesday of each month at the The Halfway House, St.Jidgey, Wadebridge PL27 7RE, 6:30 for 7pm. Any Rotarian wishing to visit should contact the Secretary. Formed in 1978 it quickly became recognised as a small but active club with a major interest in supporting the local community as well as humanitarian projects internationally.
A very effective alliance has been developed over recent years as the Rotary Club has worked in partnership with St Columb Co-op to distribute community funding for youth and other local voluntary groups.
Links with Newquay Tretherras Academy have allowed the St Columb Club to lead with the creation in 2019 of a fledgling Interact Club. We look forward to seeing more progress from the new club which has already supported charity initiatives by their members.
