Welcome to the community website for the town & parish of St Columb Major where the game of hurling is played at Shrovetide. Our quaint market town is situated just a few miles inland from the stunning North Cornwall coastline while the A30 spine road is even closer, affording excellent access to the rest of Cornwall and beyond.

In the parish to the east of the town is Castle-an-Dinas, one of the largest and most impressive hillforts in Cornwall, sited in an imposing position with panoramic views across central Cornwall. During World War Two a 20th century wolfram mine which straddled the hill was the operational base for the St Columb Major Auxillary Unit, civilian saboteurs tasked with attacking German forces in the event of an invasion.
