We form a cluster of parishes with the United Benefice of St Mawgan, St Eval & St Ervan under the care of Revd. Graham Shield.
You would be very welcome to join us for worship. Services here are normally on Sundays at 11:00am and, on the first Sunday of each month, at 6:00pm but please see the full list of Benefice Services.
The church itself, a fine Grade 1 listed building dating originally from the 14th century, stands on a plateau at the head of the fertile Vale of Lanherne. It is normally open to visitors during daylight hours and is well worth a visit.
On Sunday 25th July 2010 Bishop Tim conducted a joyful and uplifting service when Max Beason, Derek Dennis, June Gurd & Matthew Rodliffe were Confirmed; photographs can be found here.
Teams from the four parishes in our cluster present bible stories using the Open the Book material at assemblies in the three primary schools in our area. This is much appreciated by both the staff and the pupils who join in enthusiastically with their parts.
If you would like to find out more about what it means to be a Christian, and are not able to attend church for whatever reason, you can sign up here for a five week basic course by email provided by the Church Army.
Our parish church has tremendous potential as a concert venue for acoustic music. Not only does it boast a noted Bryceson pipe organ and a good quality grand piano, but the building itself has a generous, warm acoustic.
Music in St. Columb (MISC) was formed with the intention of making use of all this potential for the benefit of concertgoers and aspiring musicians of all ages. We present live music concerts by professional musicians and ensembles, amateur choirs and concert bands which we hope will be of wide interest.
Each summer, at the end of August, the Harmoniemusik ensemble, a group of professional musicians from London, present a series of chamber music concerts to an enthusiastic and appreciative audience.
